Man Seriously Burned in Propane Fireplace Explosion

PORTLAND, Oregon — A 30-year old Eastern Oregon man, Casey Zollman from Pendleton, Oregon, received burns over 40% of his body from home propane explosion. 

The propane explosion took place when Mr. Zollman tried to light a propane fueled fireplace in a cabin he was repairing on Wallowa Lake.  Somehow, Mr. Zollman was able to drive himself to the Wallowa Memorial Hospital in nearby Enterprise, Oregon.  From their, Mr. Zollman was transported by helicopter to the Oregon Burn Center in Portland, Oregon, this according to a recent news article in The East Oregonian newspaper.
